It is with great honor that Chief Christopher Maguy announces the promotion of Firefighter Zachary Smus to the rank of Lieutenant and Lieutenant Samuel Pine Jr. to the rank of Captain effective November 1, 2023. Zack started with the Dighton Fire Department in our Junior Firefighter program and was appointed as a Call Firefighter on November 15, 2012. Sam also started with the Dighton Fire Department in our Junior Firefighter program and was appointed as a Call Firefighter on July 1, 2005, and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on May 5, 2019. I have great confidence in both Zack and Sam and know they possess the qualities and knowledge to make them great officers for this department.
