Chief Christopher Maguy and the Dighton Fire Department are proud to announce the appointment of Sarah Guilmette to the Fulltime Ranks as a Firefighter/Paramedic. Sarah started out with the Dighton Fire Department as a Call Paramedic on May 13, 2018. Shortly after being appointed, Sarah showed great interest in also being a firefighter, she was enrolled in the next available Call/Volunteer Firefighting Academy. Sarah successfully completed the Massachusetts Call/Volunteer Firefighting Academy where she was Pro Board Certified in Firefighter I/II on October 8, 2020. She also holds two Bachelor’s Degrees, one in Fire/Arson Investigation and one in Fire Administration from the University of New Haven in Connecticut. Sarah is the first Female Fulltime Appointment with the Dighton Fire Department. Sarah’s appointment takes effect on March 22nd when she will work her first fulltime shift.
