Dighton – Chief Christopher Maguy and the Dighton Fire Department are pleased to announce that they have received a special request from the North Pole. The Dighton Fire Department has been asked to help usher “SANTA” around town.
For six decades, the Dighton Fire Department with the help of the Dighton Lions Club has been ushering Santa around town wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.
This years Santa Run will be Sunday December 13 starting at 0900 with a rain date of Sunday December 20 starting at 0900.
As a courtesy we ask you NOT to call the Dighton Communications Center to ask them the location of Santa or when Santa will be going down your street. The Dispatcher on duty may be dealing with an emergency and fielding 40-50 telephone calls asking where is Santa, takes the dispatcher away from dealing with the emergency at hand.
Santa will go up and down every street in Dighton, although we can not pin-point what time he will go down your street we ask that you listen for the sirens and air horns for that will be the best way to know he is coming. The residents of Dighton do a wonderful job on social media letting everyone know where Santa is, so please follow his location there.
Finally, we ask that everyone enjoy themselves and follow all CDC COVID guidelines (social distancing, wear a mask and no large gatherings) use extreme caution while Santa is going through the town. This year Santa will be tossing different types of wrapped candy. If your child has any food allergies we ask that you examine it prior to opening.
